Thank you for visiting my website. The Alaska images collected here cost me 30 long, dark, cold winters. I hope you will agree that the price was well worth it. In real life, I am a 60-year-old retired federal attorney. I have lived in Anchorage since 1975. Almost all of the images on this site were made within a few miles of my Cooper Landing cabin near Kenai Lake on the scenic Kenai Peninsula south of Anchorage. I have just opened The Downstairs Gallery in the Meta Rose Square at Wasilla, Alaska.
I am especially interested in exploring the boundaries between modern digital photography and the traditional fine arts. My work can be divided into three areas: Digital photography intended for large, super-sharp glossy prints with minimal editing; Digital art for glossy prints which start as a photograph and are highly edited by "painting" with the existing pixels; Digital impressions which start as a photograph and are creatively enhanced & converted to digital brush strokes which closely mimic watercolors or oils. Many of the latter are printed as limited edition giclees on fine art papers.
